Activities

8 players playing 5 rounds of world-class golf (as below).

Prestwick Golf Club – The history of Prestwick Golf Club stretches back over 160 years to 1851, when a group of 57 enthusiastic members made the momentous decision to form a golf club, purchasing two cottages opposite the tavern they met in. The first cottage would become the members’ clubhouse whilst the other was gifted to the Club’s Keeper of the Green, ball and clubmaker—Old Tom Morris. The first Open Championship was held at Prestwick in 1860 with 8 professional players competing for a red Morocco leather belt with silver clasps and an ornamental silver buckle; it can be seen in the clubhouse lobby. The last and 24th Open Championship at Prestwick was held 65 years later in 1925.

Kilmarnock Barassie GC – Kilmarnock (Barassie) par 72 championship links is known as The Barassie Links. The Club moved to its current location from its original home in Kilmarnock at the end of the nineteenth century. It has been host to a number of events including Open Championship Final Qualifying, British Boys' Amateur Championships, Scottish Amateur Championships and Women's Amateur Championship.

Dundonald Links – The first Dundonald Links layout opened in 1911. It has been improved twice by Kyle Phillips (Kingsbarns architect) in 2003 and 2019 as ownership changed. The result is a world-class modern links course, with wonderful undulations, gorse bushes and, unusually, stunning pine trees. The new clubhouse opened in 2022. Several premier events have been hosted here: Scottish Open in 2017, Women’s Scottish Open from 2022 to 2025, and Final Qualifying for The Open until 2026.

Royal Troon – Established in 1878, the Old Course is a host course for The Open Championship; first in 1923 and most recently in 2024 for the tenth time. Just prior to its first Open Championship in 1923, the Old Course was redesigned by James Braid and the current Old Course is essentially very similar to Braid's finished work. It is home to, arguably, one of the most famous holes in Open Championship golf, the par-3 Postage Stamp (8th) at just 123 yards, but its diminutive green measures a mere 2,635 square feet.

Prestwick St Cuthberts Golf Club – This parkland course is the hidden gem of golf courses in Ayrshire. Designed in 1963 by J.R. Stutt and offers a challenging layout that will test golfers of all skill levels. Now known for its excellent greens and picturesque fairways. Hosted the 2017 Scottish Amateur Championship.
